Living and Painting in Texas with a Georgia Accent!

Since moving to Central Texas in 2018, I have become obsessed with painting wide open Texas skies and the variety of colors, shapes and moods that can be found in them.  My paintings are guided by the composition of light across form, no matter what the subject is.  Paintings that are somewhat impressionistic, yet representational, express a reverence for the Creator God, the Giver of every good and perfect gift.

I paint from life. Plein air painting enables me to learn about the environment with all the senses.  I often take a photo reference to use in the studio, but paint only from my own photos and studies. Thus, the paintings are an accurate record of my experience and emotions.

I have found one of my greatest joys is to hear that a painting moves the viewer enough for them to take it into their own home.  Those who receive and appreciate art are an important part of the process of art creation. Thank you for following along!
